Episode 5: Sarah McLachlan - Learning to be kind to yourself
We’re super excited because we have our very first guest interview!
Sarah and James worked together as baristas, many years ago, and at the time they were both undiagnosed. Then, very recently, they both found out they were neurodivergent (it’s probably why they got along so well at work!).
So when we decided to interview real-life ADHDers on this show, Sarah’s name came up first. And she was brave enough to say yes.
In this episode, we chat about:
The grief and other emotions experienced after diagnosis.
RSD (Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria).
Why it’s hard to stick to one job when you’re an ADHDer.
Family dynamics.
The “helpful” things people say when you reveal that you’re neurodivergent.
Getting the medications dialled in… and then what happens when they stop working.
The positive things that can come out of an ADHD diagnosis.
